WHY BRACES ARE IMPORTANT?

Well, even though no one would want to have a support brace on their body if it wasn't necessary, we know that according to Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), about one in four adults with arthritis (joint inflammation) say they experience severe joint pain.

Personally, we consider that a very large amount of people!

Additionally, nearly 50% of the adults with arthritis have persistent pain.

You are not alone if you are feeling that pain, trust us.

why are we inside this field?

First of all, we believe everything should be simple yet efficient enough. With this idea, we realized that braces are just too many!

Even though the logic behind a support brace is same everywhere, as engineers, we like everything to be simple, ergonomic, and efficient. So, we created the Multi-Functional Support Braces to contribute to the field of orthopedics.

Regarding the orthopedics field, we came across with an information that made us realize how huge this area was: Due to the rapidly increasing arthritis and muscle injury patients, the global orthopedic braces and supports market size was valued at over $4.9 billion in 2018 and is expected to witness a growth of 6.4$ over the upcoming years.

So, maybe invest in good orthopedics support market? Or, just get one of our product and invest in one of the best multi-functional products out in the field.

what data have we collected?

When designing this product, we conducted a survey that asked basic questions about support braces, so that we could know our audience:

Have you ever used the supporting braces?

What is the reason for using it?

How many time a week do you need to use it?

Any changes in the previous product you want to suggest for better comfort?

What we concluded was not so surprising considering the background information we got.

With all of our respondents using some kind of a support brace, we  saw that most of them used it for post injuries and general pain.

In addition to the reason of their pains, we saw that most of them used their supports at least 4 times a week.

This was a big number for us, as a product that is used that often should be comfortable, efficient, and strong enough to satisfy the user.

What data types do we need to get more on?

In order to improve our product, we need feedback from our users as well as more information regarding their support brace usage. These data types will help us understand the differences and similarities between each individual and help us plan and improve a better design and quality:

  • Age (years)

  • Sex (male/female/other)

  • Height (cm)

  • Weight (kg)

  • BMI (kg/m2)

  • Knee circumference (cm)

  • While standing

  • While seating

  • Ankle circumference (cm)

  • Waist circumference (cm)

  • Neck circumference (cm)

  • Spine length (cm)
